In Dinagat Islands, surveying demand is driven above all by nickel mining, as the province sits at the heart of the Caraga region, the country's nickel capital, with numerous active mining operations, and by the fisheries and small farms that share its limited land. Mining and mineral-agreement surveys, together with the boundary work these operations require, sit alongside ordinary land transactions across the islands. Titles are registered with the Registry of Deeds of the province under the Land Registration Authority, while tax mapping is handled by the municipal assessors and public-land, mineral and cadastral surveys are approved by the DENR through its Caraga Region XIII offices and the local CENRO and PENRO. Every plan must be signed and sealed by a PRC-licensed Geodetic Engineer and referenced to PRS92, with lot, relocation and verification surveys forming the constant demand.
