Land surveying and Mountain Province

In Mountain Province, surveying demand is shaped by highland agriculture and rugged terrain: commercial vegetable farming that helps supply Luzon's markets and centuries-old rice terraces built by Igorot communities in areas such as Sagada and Maligcong, alongside small-scale mining and growing eco-tourism. Much of the province lies within ancestral domains, so surveys often intersect with the indigenous peoples' rights framework administered by the NCIP, while titled land is registered with the Registry of Deeds of Mountain Province under the Land Registration Authority. Tax mapping is handled by the municipal assessors, public-land and cadastral surveys are approved by the DENR through its Cordillera offices, and every plan must be signed and sealed by a PRC-licensed Geodetic Engineer referenced to PRS92. Relocation and verification surveys on steep terraced land, subdivision surveys, and topographic surveys for roads and buildings are the recurring work.
